Man City v Wigan Betting Preview
Even if the Latics are unable to exact another great Premier League survival act, they could still bow out for the season on a high. They take on the challenge of their first ever FA Cup Final, as they go as underdogs at Wembley against Manchester City. All of the experience and form seems to be with Manchester City on this one, as this is their 10th FA Cup final. They are looking to get their hands of the trophy for the second time in three seasons, but can the Latics put all of their relegation worries behind them and enjoy their day out at Wembley?

Man City v Wigan Recommended Bet:
There could be some consolation for the season for Man City as well, after giving up their Premier League title to rivals Man United. They are the favourites for the FA Cup Final and given their current form against Wigan, it’s hard to argue against it. The Citizens beat Wigan twice in the Premier League season and on both occasions they kept the Latics off the scoresheet. That has been the story of the last seven meetings between the two clubs, Man City taking a win to nil. It has been something of a comfortable ride for Man City to get to this season’s final, their toughest challenge coming at the semi final stage when they took on defending champions Chelsea. After dominating the match and stretching out to a comfortable 2-0 lead, they had to hold off a strong comeback from the Blues after Demba Ba pulled one back. But make it through they did, and it will be their 10th FA Cup Final, having won five of their previous nine.

Twice before the two sides have come up against each other in the FA Cup before, once back in 1971 and the most recent coming together in 2006 in the fourth round. Both matches ended in wins for Man City so that is another plus in their column. Their general form in the FA Cup suggests that they are going to be the ones to stop. They have won ten of their last 11 matches in the competition, and equally as impressive is the fact that nine of those have come with clean sheets. Going forward, they have scored in their last 18 consecutive FA Cup matches too. Only Chelsea are on a larger goal scoring streak in the competition than them. Chelsea are the only side who have scored more FA Cup goals this season than Man City as well, but City top the charts in having conceded just one goal in their run to the final. David Silva and Carlos Tevez are enjoying good FA Cup campaigns, Silva being involved in four goals in his last two, while Tevez has scored five and assisted two in his five FA Cup matches this term.

So Man City are the heavyweights for the FA Cup Final betting without any doubt. Worryingly for Wigan, who have to be concerned about relegation, is that they have not scored a single goal in the last seven matches against Manchester City. All seven of those games have come in the Premier League. Not too surprisingly, despite some spirited displays, they have lost all seven of those meetings. They have cut loose it seems in the FA Cup this season, which will give them some hope. They have only conceded two goals in this year’s competition and have enjoyed themselves going forward, notably their 3-0 win at Everton in their progress to the final. However, in their last six FA Cup encounters against top flight opposition, Wigan have only won two. This is their first ever FA Cup final, and the last team to win the trophy at the first attempt was Wimbledon back in 1988.

Little doubt that Man City are favourites, and Wigan, while they play well, often lack a bit of conviction up front and then shoot themselves in the foot at the back. City have much more resources to call upon and given their run, it is like worth going for Man City To Win To Nil at a price of 23/20 with online bookmaker Ladbrokes
