Man City v Newcastle Prediction 30th March 2013
March 29th, 2013 / leeMan City v Newcastle Betting Preview
It is all about securing second place for themselves now for Man City, heading into the weekend just four points clear of Chelsea. City stumbled last time out, while Newcastle have continued on their patchy form. The Magpies look to have done enough to get themselves safe, and could have more focus on their Europa League match in the week. Will that sound out to a home win?

Man City v Newcastle Recommended Bet:
Roberto Mancini’s side have taken a run of W2 D2 L2 in their last six Premier League matches, so they haven’t been as strong as they would have liked. They slipped up at Everton just before the international break after recording back to back wins in the league. They have just been struggling for a bit of fluency up front, but they still have a great home record for the season. the Citizens have record tens wins and just one defeat in their fourteen home matches this season. That is over a 70% success rate on home soil. They have scored at a rate of well over two goals per game on home turf and have conceded at well under a goal per game. That should put them in great stead for a win here, and they recorded something of a comfortable 3-1 away win at St James Park earlier in the season.
City have a great record of ten wins and two draws in their last 12 Premier League matches against Magpies, winning the last six in a row. Interestingly, City have dropped seven points in their last seven home games, that was in stark contrast to just six points dropped in their previous 35 home matches. So have they lost a bit of motivation for the end of season run in, with their title defence having flown out of the window? Newcastle don’t look as if they have too much to play for, picking up enough points of late to see themselves clear enough of worries about taking the drop. The Magpies are continuing in their run of WLWLWL so if that follows then they will be due for a draw. All but one of their last eight Premier League matches have been settled by a single goal and have only drawn one of their last twenty.
The Magpies have only scored a single win on the road this team, posting a W1 D5 L9 record. They have struggled a bit in front of goal this season, netting at a rate of 1.2 goals per game away from home. Defensively they haven’t been at the races too much though, conceding at over two goals per game. Only Reading have picked up fewer points on the road than Newcastle have this season, and they have conceded a league-high 15 goals in eh final 15 minutes of Premier League matches this season. Only once before out of 32 previous attempts have Newcastle won a match in Manchester in the Premier League at City and United. Not much to write home about and City will be favourites to edge things.
While City are favourites, this may not be completed by as big of a margin as may immediately be suggested. A Man City 1 Goal winning margin is trading at a price of 10/3 with online bookmaker Paddy Power.
